As proud sponsors of the Swedish national chefs’ team, we at Arbesko want to congratulate the team on their Olympic gold medal in cooking – at the Culinary Olympic games in Erfurt, Germany.

And to top that, the team won in all categories – a feat not achieved by any nation before.

All teams compete in two events, chilled dishes and warm dishes. The events are judged by an international jury consisting of one German judge and judges from other parts of the world.

The Culinary Olympics is not a new thing, it’s been going for over a hundred years and always taken place in Germany. Sweden competed against 36 other countries, in total 1300 chefs and pastry chefs.

Arbesko are one of the sponsors of Waiter Of The Year 2012. A competition aiming to raise the status of dining professionals in Sweden and put them in the spotlight.

For us at Arbesko, the chance to sponsor this competition is a natural step after sponsoring both the Swedish national chefs’ team and the junior chefs’ team.  All the semi finalists and finalists will wear Arbesko shoes and socks when the competition draws to a close on November 5th in Stockholm, in conjunction with Restauranggalan at Cirkus.

Waiter Of The Year is open for all dining professionals and is arranged by RS (Restauranger & Storkök) together with The Sommelier Organization, The Bartenders Guild, the Grythytte Academic Hotel School and The Restaurant Academy. The competition was arranged for the first time in 2009.
